Free Printable – 30 Minute Company Quick Clean

It’s that time of year – people dropping by, friends and family coming in to town to visit, and holiday get-togethers.  ‘Tis the season for dropping by unexpectedly and for inviting people in on a whim.  Instead of throwing yourself into a panic, you need a plan. Print off a few checklists and put them on a clipboard or in a folder or binder for when you have company coming or if you need to do a quick clean.  If you’re feeling especially organized, combine the checklist with a few microfiber cloths, all-purpose cleaner, and a duster.  A simple kit to quick clean, anytime.  (You can see the products pictured here on my cleaning faves page.)

Print off a couple of these quick clean checklists and the minute you get that phone call grab the checklist and start tidying up and cleaning.  Thirty minutes later you’ll have a quickly cleaned home and you’ll be able to welcome your guests with ease.

Simply Cozy : Prioritizing To Do List

prioritizing-to-do-list-clean-mama

This holiday season let’s slow down, savor the season and remember what we did and why we did it when we reflect on this year, shall we?  I’m really excited about this Simply Cozy series because a.) I love the holiday season and b.) I hate coming to December 26th with regrets.  This season will be cozy, simple, and memorable.  And it might just stretch into January a little bit.  First things first, let’s make a list of all the musts, maybes, and nos.  This isn’t a list about saying no to all the fun things, it’s a list about saying yes to the best things and letting some things go for the sake of simplicity.  I created a little prioritizing checklist for you and me.  I thought about making it more holiday themed but for the sake of simple and cozy, I’m guessing you might want to use it at a different time of the year too.  Slowing down isn’t just for the holiday season, sometimes it’s for other seasons too.

Prioritizing To Do LIst

You’ll see that there are columns for MUSTS, MAYBES and NO – use it how it works for you.  For me, I have little musts in my head and there are some maybes too.  Only a handful of no’s but I’m intentional and realistic about my yes’s and no’s.  Here’s the list I started….

Menu Planning : Family Favorites Free Printable

Family Favorites Free Printable - Clean Mama

One of my best tips and tricks for menu planning is to keep a running list of favorite recipes on hand in my recipe binder.  Yes, it’s easy to recall favorite recipes but sometimes when menu planning it’s hard to come up with winner-dinners.  I’m not saying that every night you need to knock it out of the park but it’s nice to have a list of favorite recipes to rely on for menu planning.

As part of the Menu Planning Mini Challenge I have this free printable for you – it’s part of the Everyday Menu Planning Kit in my shop here.  Print it out, make a list of favorites and next time you are stumped on what to make for dinner or plan for the next week, grab your list and choose a couple winners.

FREE WINTER CLEANING CHECKLIST

Winter Cleaning Checklist Printable - courtesy of Clean Mama

Spring is just right around the corner but if you’d like a little winter-specific cleaning checklist, I’ve got you covered!

I like to break chores and tasks down into musts and maybes – and that’s how I approach seasonal cleaning.  I might not get to everything on the list but at least I’ve gotten a couple musts out of the way first.  Here’s a little explanation of my winter cleaning checklist – I hope you give it a whirl!

BASICS

These items are cleaning tasks that I rotate through 4 times a year or seasonally.  Hence the winter cleaning checklist.  Some of these items (dust, vacuum) are on my weekly cleaning checklist, so I do those on that day of the week, but I do a more thorough job.  For instance, instead of just vacuuming the family room I move the furniture and vacuum under the couch.  I dust all surfaces, but I also dust the corners and corners at the ceiling.  If this is the only portion of the checklist that you complete, you have still done a great job.  These 9 basics will make a big difference in your home!

DEEP CLEANING

If you’ve never done a deep or thorough cleaning and you have extra time on your hands, you’ll want to check these items off your list.  If you just washed your windows last month, you probably won’t need to wash them, check your home and see if any of these tasks should be completed.

TRADITIONAL WINTER CLEANING TASKS TO ADD IF YOU’D LIKE

Seasonal cleaning goes back generations, these tasks are ones that are generally associated with winter cleaning.  If you’d like to complete them and it makes sense for you it will be time well spent.  If you don’t have time and have never completed them, no need to feel bad – they are just suggestions.  For what it’s worth, I won’t be cleaning the fireplace.

FREE Printable – Bill and Payment Organizer

FREE printable Bill + Payment Organizer to Help you Organize Your Finances via Clean Mama

Money is a subject that no one really wants to talk about, but everyone deals with in some way.  Today I’m sharing a free printable for a Bill + Payment Organizer that I hope will encourage you if you’re feeling like you need to see those bills on paper too.  This is  how I always start when I’m putting together my bill and payment checklist for the new year.  Usually I just jot everything down on a piece of notebook paper but this year I decided to put it down on paper and add it to the budget section of my homekeeping binder.  I’ll be able to use it as a reference down the road and it’s much cuter than scratching some thoughts down on paper.

If you’re wondering why I’m not using an app or the computer or some fancy tracking software, ask I will just say that I’ve tried that and I use software for numbers that go to the CPA, but for daily/weekly/monthly money tracking, THIS is the only way that works for me and my husband.  Here’s why:

  • I keep track of any debt, bills that are paid, savings progress, etc. on paper and it’s so great to be able to just grab my notebook and produce the information.
  • All the information is in front of me – I am tracking the things that are important to us (like debt reduction, loans, etc.) and we can both see it at a glance.
  • No trying to see those itty bitty numbers on a phone or computer.
  • We love to see progress.
  • I love paper and would rather have those things easily accessible in case something were to happen to the computer or technology we’re using.

What programs do I use?

  • I use Outright/GoDaddy Bookkeeping for all business information, tracking, and what goes to the CPA.
  • We pay bills online through our bank, so I can see there that a payment was made and cleared, but I can also see it on my paper checklist.

So here’s how I use this Bill + Payment Organizer:

  1. Write down ALL outgoing bills and payments in the top section – this is like a brainstorming session for your finances.
  2. Next to the bill, write a number for the date that the bill is typically due.
  3. Write down your bills and payments in day order in the second section.
  4. Write the date that it’s due in the ‘due’ box.
  5. Check off what category it belongs to.

Free Printable Bill + Payment Organizer via Clean Mama

Now you have all your bills and their due dates in one place for easy reference!  Once you’ve completed that you can put it in a binder, on a clipboard near your bill paying area, or put it on a file folder and put your monthly bills in that folder.  I take it a little further and transfer that information into my bill and payment checklist (pictured above with the free bill and payment organizer) in my Everyday Budget + Bill Paying Kit.  I also track debt and use a handful of other pages to make dealing with money a little easier and definitely cuter!  You can see my budget kits below (the link is under each image) and if you have your own business, my Everyday Work @ Home Kit is great for small business owners to track all that important info too!
