DIY Cleaners : All-Purpose Spray

All-Purpose Spray - Clean Just About Anywhere Spary - Clean Mama

This week I’ll be sharing my 3 favorite DIY recipes for spring cleaning.  It’s spring cleaning season and you need a go-to all-purpose spray to clean all those spots on your checklist.  I promise you this All-Purpose Spray recipe is the perfect clean just-about-anywhere spray.  Want the kids to help?  Hand them a bottle of this.  Not to be used on marble or granite (because of the white vinegar).

All-Purpose Spray Ingredients - Clean Mama

  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 10 drops of your favorite essential oil (lemon and clove is my favorite blend)

Use a Funnel to Pour Ingredients into Spray Bottle - Clean Mama

Mix in a spray bottle, spray liberally on surfaces and wipe clean with a soft cleaning cloth (I prefer microfiber).

  1. I love the DIY house cleaners. It’s always nice to really know what goes into what you are spraying or using in your house. I have also heard that adding a little alcohol like vodka or just rubbing alcohol helps with killing bacteria. Have you heard this and if so what are your thoughts on this? I was thinking about trying it but not sure that it will really help.

  2. Love the cute labels!!

  3. Michele says:

Does this one not disinfect as well as the one with vodka?

  4. Melissa says:

What would you recommend I use on my quartz countertop for disinfecting? Thanks! Love your blog 🙂

  5. Mary Siegismund says:

What is best to use to clean crud off of the inside of GE Oven (newish last year).

  6. Teresa Finney says:

I was finally able to purchase a bottle of Clove EO. I can see why lemon and clove is your favorite blend? I made your sink cleaner and used it to clean my sink. I absolutely loved the smell when I opened the container that I have it in.

  7. I just made more of the lemon & lavender bathroom spray, all purpose wipes and for the first time I made the hand sanitize (spray and gel). I really like knowing what is going into the products and my cat who is very sensitive to strong scents loves it also.

  8. can ya use vinegar on unfinished wood floors

  9. I’m new to homemade cleaners and I am liking it so far. Is there an issue with adding a little extra essential oil to the recipe to boost the scent?

  10. We have hard water. I can never get the toilet bowl clean. I have used everything from hard chemicals to vinegar and borax…
    Any suggestions?
