Have you ordered my book, The Organically Clean Home?   Go get it!

  1. Hi Becky,
I really like your website. Did you every think about putting it on Bloglovin’? I just signed up and I’d love to follow you there. 🙂

  2. Becky…

Got my copy of The Organically Clean Home in the mail yesterday (gotta love Amazon’s release day guarantee). I’ve got a question about the cabinet cleaner recipe. Can other essential oils be substituted for the lemon essential oil or does the lemon oil aid in the cleaning? I like to be able to switch up scents for different seasons when I can.

Great book so far, I’ve got a short list of things to pick up, but most of the ingredients are already here!

  3. I pre-ordered yesterday! So excited for it to come and get started on making my home more organic!

  4. Hello Becky! Just want you to know you have followers in Italy too (myself, in this case)!
I just ordered my copy on Amazon, hope to receive it soon.

  6. Jennifer S says:

I sure hope to buy it soon! I wish we had the extra money right now because I love following you blog and always share your posts on fb. You’ve helped me so much. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts!!!!

  7. Congratulations on your new release, Becky!! Bummed I don’t have the extra cash for it right now, but it’s definitely on my wish list. 🙂

  8. will your book be released in any bookstores? i prefer to pay cash rather than credit card!

  9. Loving your new book!
I have two questions. For your lemon and peppermint toilet treatment, how much citric acid do you use? Where do you purchase your citric acid?
    Thank you!

  10. YAY! I just ordered my copy today! Can’t wait till it gets here! Congratulations, Becky!

  11. Just got my copy today, can’t wait to try the recipes. Beautiful and organized book! Exactly what I’ve been looking for! Thank you!

  12. I recently purchased “The Organically Clean Home” and LOVING it! What recipe would you recommend for natural stone (travertine) showers? It needs a good scrubbing and I’ve never been sure what is safe to use on it. Thanks in advance!

    • Thank you Erica! I’m guessing it’s sealed if it’s in your shower 🙂 Travertine is porous and it can get etched very easily if you use an acid (like vinegar) to clean it. Try castile soap and water – scrub gently – a handheld dishscrubber would be helpful. Rinse thoroughly with water. I hope this helps!

  13. HI, I would like to order your book from Amazon but I have a question. I would like to know if your book include any borax-free recipes for laundry, dish soap & dishwasher soap?

I prefer to not use borax any of my recipes and it is hard to find good one without. I have a child with allergies and after doing a lot of research I decided not use it in our recipes.

    • Hi Karol!
The liquid dw detergent recipe is without Borax but the laundry detergents all have Borax in them. xo, Becky

      • Beck, Thank you for the timely response. Do you think if I leave out the borax on the powder and possibly add baking soda instead, would I get good results?

Very excited to buy the book. Cant wait!

  14. Edie Ruedy says:

I have been sitting here reading the book – what wonderful ideas. With my quilting projects, I iron seams, etc., I can’t find anything on organic homemade spray starch. Do you have any ideas for that?

You would think that in my little four room home that I would have this place spotless with your fantastic recipes and methods for doing things around the house. Au contraire – I am too busy sitting out on the deck in my rocking chair reading your book.

Norm and Myrtle would be so proud of you as the rest of us in the family are.

Good luck, Becky, in the future with more books, more fantastic ideas that make things easier for us old folks!!!!

    With love, Edie

    • Oh thank you so much Edie 🙂
Have you tried vodka? If you use straight vodka in a spray bottle it will completely evaporate and ‘starch’ your fabric! I’ll email you a link!
      xo, Becky

  15. Becky,

I just got your book yesterday, and have been reading through it. I do have a couple of questions. First – I noticed that your DIY wipes use paper towels. Can I use cloth wipes with the recipes? I like the idea of cutting up old t-shirts to reuse. Also, I have a cat, which is the reason that I have decided to make several of my own non-toxic cleaning products. I have read online recently that essential oils are toxic for cats – The only real surface that I’m worried about is the floor (she doesn’t have access to the bathroom or kitchen counters). Do you have any ideas of how I can disinfect the floors in a safe way without harming kitty?

(Love, love, love that you included check lists in your book – I am a person who needs to chart my progress to stay optimistic!)

Thank you – I’m sooooo excited to begin my new cleaning regimen!

  16. I would love to review this on our blog ( Can you put me in touch with your marketing specialist? Thanks!

  17. I passed along your information Bonnie, thank you!

  18. I LOVE THE BOOK…I look at it all the time. I have learned a lot! Thanks Becky…Only problem is I keep drinking the vodka!!! (jk)

  19. Hi! I LOVE your book, by the way!! However, yesterday, I made the liquid detergent…. and it is now…. well, not liquid. Is it fixable? I’m already planning to buy some more washing soda to make the powder when I get home! 🙁

    Thank you! 🙂

I’m planning on gifting this book and a couple ingredients to my cousin for her wedding 🙂

  20. Hi Becky,

I love this book and your site. I moved to a new home about a month ago, it’s been a crazy and overwhelming experience because it was unplanned. Thanks to your daily cleaning routine and organizing tips, I’m now regaining my sanity 🙂

    Much love,

  21. Hi Becky,
Love your book! I’m wondering about the book scent. When I received it from amazon, it smelled heavenly.
If you would like to share, I’d greatly appreciate it…:)

  22. Hi Becky!
Out of curiosity, do you think you’ll ever make a downloadable pdf version of The Organically Clean Home available? I’d love to be able to print it out and get it spiral bound, as I find it much easier to keep the book open while making a recipe when it is bound that way.
p.s. Love your site and all of your products. Just ordered a bunch of stuff from Clean Mama Home and can’t wait for it to come in the mail!! 🙂

  23. Hi Becky,

Is your book available in Canada? I don’t want to buy it online.

  24. Andrew Glass says:

Oh my goodness. I love when I find websites with such good information and now I see you have a book. Count me in. We’ve been working to get the harsh chemicals out of the house but a lot of the “natural” cleaners just don’t seem to work. The reviews look awesome on Amazon so I’m picking it up tomorrow.

Keep up the great work and I’ll be sure to give a post-purchase review.

  25. Hi. I cannot seem to find where to purchase books.

  26. Do the cleaning recipes in your book use a lot of vinegar? My husband can’t stand the smell of vinegar, so I’m looking for some good vinegar alternatives for homemade cleaning products.

  27. Hello! I just got your book and made a few of the recipes. The stain spray is one of them and i am running into difficulties. The borax crystallizes and clogs up the nozzle. What can I do? Thanks!

  28. Also, I see recipes with both vinegar and baking soda, do those two ingredients not cancel each other? Or does the reaction of the two do the cleaning? Thanks!

  29. Steven Wellington says:

    3 tablespoons Rubbing Alcohol
    2 cups water
1/4 cup teaspoon Castile or dish soap

Is this recipe correct? That seems like an awfully small amount of dish soap.

  30. Steven Wellington says:

When I mix baking soda into a spray bottle, the bottle gets clogged. How do I get around this?
